We found this blog post from Katie over at Kitchen Stewardship that we thought was awesome and wanted to share. We felt like this is a good reminder as the kids head back to school. Food Coloring, MSG & Soy are often foods we don't think about our kids eating, but maybe we should! We hope you enjoy!Read More

We are calling this a "recipe" but really, it is just guidelines. Around here we cook by adding a little bit here and a little bit there. So, proceed at your own risk, but we are pretty sure you can't mess this one up! It is delicious anyway you make it!
There are quite a few of us around Mountain Mama's that have our own backyard garden and our collards, kale and swiss chard are all ready to be trimmed! Any deep leafy green will work with this recipe, feel free to try them all. You can also play with mushrooms (another favorite of ours), zucchini, parmesan...the options are endless!
Garlicy Garden Greens & Quinoa
A bunch or 2 of greens
4 cup bone broth
2 cups cooked quinoa
Salt & Pepper
Start by sautéing the garlic and onions in the olive oil. Once your onions are clear add the quinoa and bone broth. Cook until the quinoa is almost at the texture you like the best (soft, chewy, or in between) then add the greens, lemon juice, salt & pepper to taste. Sautee a little longer until greens are cooked. You are ready to serve and enjoy.
We love this dish and we hope you do as well. This is one of those dishes that makes you feel healthier, just because you ate it! :)

A CONGRATS goes out to Jamie S. for winning last weeks "dreamy" pair of herbal drops from Herbalogic, Solid Eight & Quiet Mind.
This week we have our final giveaway in the Herbalogic series! This one you might want to win for yourself, or a "friend". Most of us have the "friend" who has been cranky for the longest time because of mood fluctuations & hot flashes!
This weeks GIVEAWAY is for a 2oz bottle of FLASHBACK: Hot Flash, Hot Flush & Night Sweats
Hormonal changes during menopause can upset a woman's internal thermostat and lead to sudden, frequent, and intense hot flashes (a.k.a. "hot flushes") and night sweats. Herbalogic's Flashback formula is a safe herbal treatment for these unwanted temperature fluctuations. The powerful combination of herbs in Flashback has been used for centuries in traditional herbal medicine to:
- » reduce the frequency and intensity of hot flashes and hot flushes
- » ease emotional stress that may trigger hot flashes
- » relieve night sweats and promote restful sleep
Flashback takes a broad-spectrum approach to hot flash relief. Rather than depend on a single herb, which may not work with the body chemistry of some women, Flashback contains a proprietary blend of 16 herbs used in Chinese herbal medicine to cool hot flashes and night sweats while addressing the poor sleep that can often accompany menopause. If you want to go back to life before hot flashes, look no further than Flashback from Herbalogic for natural hot flash relief.
Here is a more in depth training video on the herbal drops:
